Chapter 540 Cosmic Jumping... Gone Wrong?
David knew Lee Seng\'s face already from the previous battle, but he didn\'t think Lee Seng would leave his mask off like that. As Lee Seng separated the diamond mercury from his head to his wrist, David couldn\'t help but just stare.
"H-hello?" Lee Seng snapped his fingers in front of David.
"Huh?" David snapped out of it. "What?" There was a bit of panic in his voice and a slight blush of red on David\'s face.
"What do you think? Should I attempt it?" Lee Seng re-asked the question. His eyes were fully onto David. David took a step back l, gulping so loud he thought snipers would hear it.
"Uh, can you repeat the plan? I, uh, just wanna hear it again to make sure I\'m on the same page as you." David conjured an excuse, turning slightly away.
"I\'m going in on a gamble that could possibly get past all of these guys without being noticed. It\'s honestly a big gamble, but I think I can do it." Lee Seng told David.
"That doesn\'t sound good." David replied. The sound of debris settling caught his attention. He gazed deeper into the building, his nerves rocking back and forth. Lee Seng let out a sigh and straightened his back out.
"Just watch." Lee Seng watched as the Dark Matter suit flew out of his body. It began to wrap as David watched with curious eyes.
[Dark Matter Suit has been activated.]
[Combining Fox Spirit and Experiment 11 together…]
The Fox tails flew into his body, creating gold and silver lines that coursed throughout his body. The Dark Matter crawled up his cheeks, attaching themselves to his tear ducts as the liquid mercury binded itself onto his wrist. David\'s mouth was agape by the time the transformation was done. Lee Seng looked down and pulled at the Dark Matter suit. It was stretchy but he could still feel it was pure energy.
"W-what did you just do?" David asked. "Is it dangerous?"
"Shouldn\'t be." Lee Seng replied.
"Sh-shouldn\'t be? What do you mean by that? That wasn\'t a definite yes or no."
Lee Seng brushed him off as strange blobs of Dark Matter coursed through his skin tight suit.
"Now," Lee Seng spoke, lifting his hand up. "Let\'s see if I can do this…" A spark of cosmic energy fired out of his hand. David took a step back as soon as a ball of energy began to ignite.
"What\'re you doing?" David asked. "Are you trying to get us killed again?"
"Just… Trust me." Lee Seng replied. He lifted his hand and imagined a door in front of him. "Come on… A door. A door to 51st street…" The energy sparked. David jumped backwards, immediately summoning a bone shield. Lee Seng watched as the energy slowly started to expand, creating a oddly rectangle-shaped door. Stars twinkled as it revealed a street. "Is that… 51st?"
Lee Seng leaned closer to the portal. He began to poke his head out when voices caught his attention.
"Be on your guard!" A second voice warned.
"Get ready to spear them when they come by." Lee Seng warned David.
"W-wait! There\'s people?!?" David shouted. Three men with guns stepped into view. Without much time Lee Seng stuck his other hand up and watched as the three men flew backwards. David groaned in frustration and fired out bones. "Close it!" Lee Seng pulled his hand away and watched as the strange rectangle stayed open.
"Intruders!" A third voice shouted. Magic and bullets flew through the portal, forcing David and Lee Seng to jump out of the way.
"Close it, Lee Seng!" David shouted.
"I don\'t know how to!" Lee Seng replied, loudly.
"Get them!" A fourth voice shouted.
"We\'ll cover you!" Another voice shouted. Thieves showed themselves as they rushed through. Magic and bullets covered them as the tanks took the front.
[Odd… A strange opportunity has opened up for you, User.]
[Quests have been unlocked!]
[New Quest! Kill the thieves with your Dark Matter suit!]
"Great. A wonderful time for this!" Lee Seng muttered.
"One hostile?" The first tank shouted, confused.
"Where\'d you go?!?" Another tank asked. Lee Seng didn\'t bother to waste anymore time. He flew at the tank, katana appearing in his hands as he unsheathed it. The Dark Matter suit wrapped around the blade, turning the gold and silver blade black as Lee Seng slashed at the tank. The tank saw this coming and lifted his arms up. Large dark metals swirled around his arm as the blade connected. The tank watched as the sword barely slashed through, forcing Lee Seng away with a retaliation of his own.
"Get em boys!" The tank shouted. Blood spilled everywhere as bone spikes flew up all around the portal.
"What the hell?!?" Thieves shouted as they narrowly dodged the spikes. The thieves began shoving each other aside, trying to dodge the spikes as flew out around the portal. The metallic tank rushed forward, breaking a couple bone spikes as he swung for Lee Seng. Lee Seng yelped as he dodged left and then right. The metallic tank and Lee Seng continued to do this until the metallic tank had a bright idea to pull a fake out on Lee Seng.
The metallic tank swung left, Lee Seng getting ready to dodge when a right swing flew straight into Lee Seng\'s side, sending him flying. Lee Seng rolled as fireballs flew at him, shooting him up in smoke.
David, on the other hand, was making quick work of all of the guys on his side. The portal had done something quite interesting — it had split the large amount of people coming through the portal. David took this as a sign of good fortune for him and slaughtered most of the Fighters with ease.
He threw up bone spikes to try to contain the group of people coming in, but his pillars would always get destroyed. A beefy guy came out of David\'s end of the portal. David rushed at him, swinging his arm swords and watching as the man\'s entire body turned to metal. The metal man blocked the attack and forced David back with a deafening clap.
"Get him!" The metallic tank shouted. More people poured out as the bone pillars exploded into bone chunks.
[Deimon XI levels increased to 6%]
Lee Seng shoved the smoke away, revealing his somewhat flaming self as he stood. With a single pat to his arm, his entire body let out a blast of gravity that snuffed any fire on him out.
"What\'re you waiting for?" Lee Seng asked,. "Come and get it!" The thieves shouted as they rushed him.
\'The Glasses will attack first, covering for the group.\' Lee Seng thought. \'Tank will take up most of my attention so Fighters can get a flank… So I will just do this!\' Lee Seng rushed forward, body exploding into three other parts.
[Notice: Echoes have been successfully augmented.]
"Attack!" Lee Seng shouted. He leapt forward, tentacles firing out of his back as he slashed upwards, spinning himself to the right. The tentacles whipped outwards, slashing the group as his Dark Matter-infused Echoes began their attack on the growing group. The Dark Matter-infused Echoes weren\'t that strong. They would get an attack off, here and there, but would succumb to their foes\' attacks.
Instead of disappearing in an explosion of light, the Echoes would quickly reform and continue their attempts to kill their foe. Lee Seng didn\'t know his Echoes would cause so much frustration as the tank jumped to block Lee Seng from attacking his comrades.
"You aren\'t getting them that easily, intruder!" The tank shouted. He lifted his metallic arms and grinned at him. "Unluckily for you, I have many skills."
"Oh do you?" Lee Seng asked, letting out a cocky smile. "Then show me what you got!" The two flew at each other, exchanging blows. Lee Seng knew the tank\'s tactics, and readied himself for another fake out. The tank had anticipated Lee Seng would anticipate it and forced a double fake out and swung a kick straight for Lee Seng\'s crotch.
The tentacles impaled themselves into the ground behind Lee Seng, pulling him away. The tank growled in frustration as fireballs flew straight for Lee Seng. Lee Seng lifted his hand and watched as pure Dark Matter and cosmic energy shielded him from the attacks. Lee Seng slid to a stop, tentacles releasing themselves from the ground.
"Fine." Lee Seng whispered. "Let\'s play." He lifted his katana as tentacles wrapped around it. "Slash and Dash!" Lee Seng flew out of the smoke, revealing a wide smile as he swung downwards at the tank.
"No you don\'t!" The tank lifted his arms up. The swing flew faster, slashing diagonally at the tank\'s metallic arms. He dashed behind the tank, letting the tank register his arms were cleanly cut off. The tank\'s screams filled the air as Lee Seng slashed the next enemy. He quickly made easy work of the rest of the enemies on his side, dashing to the side of the portal and watching as a large rib cage flew upwards like a trap.
"Bone Prison!" David shouted. The crunching of bones and flesh snapping filled the air as David\'s Sin covered him in bone armor. "Who wants next?"
