Chapter 353 Club?-2
It could provide them much-needed experience on how to manage something valuable. It would also strengthen their relationship in the future, stating they didn\'t make each other jealous.
" Samuel! That\'s a great idea! Can you tell us more about it?" Joseph asked. It was an intriguing proposition.
" It\'s not so novel. Many places have such a supercar club, but it will depend on the market. I am sure there are smaller versions of clubs in LA, and the larger ones are mostly controlled by some large corporations."
" You are right. My father\'s dealership sometimes holds these showcases where we try to imitate European car shows to market our new arrivals." Joseph sometimes attended such conventions.
" But that doesn\'t seem like a club. I mean, Sami must have a reason to call it such?" Paige asked.
" You are right. Such places didn\'t have a sense of familiarity, in my opinion. With the right condition, it could be a massive thing." Samuel added.
" Can you elaborate?" Before Samuel could continue, Joseph chimed in with another question.
" I was going to say it. Never mind, the first rule should be that you guys had strict membership rules to recruit new members." He paused, looking to see if they were listening.
" Of course, they must have a decent supercar first. You could arrange someone to look into their background, too, just to be sure."
" Is that necessary? Didn\'t that stop many people from joining?" Someone asked. Wasn\'t it too excessive?
" Not really; you might get a few bad apples if you were too lenient with these things. There could be someone joining to harm the people inside the club. It\'s human nature."
" I see."
" You should listen to him; he has the best experience out of everyone here. It\'s not easy running a large corporation!" Paige added some unnecessary things.
" Paige? They don\'t need to know about everything! Also, to make it unique, you could organize some activities and events monthly to bring some sense of familiarity. If everyone works hard, sooner or later, the club will have its due growth. Who knows? Maybe it could also become the largest supercar club in the entire States?"
Hearing him made them extremely excited. What it\'s like to be the best in the whole country? They didn\'t know a thing, but at least they would have a goal to strive toward. It also didn\'t look too far from being feasible.
" I get it now. We could also set up a dedicated supercar showroom and park some cars inside, right?" Paige said.
" Isn\'t that counterproductive? They would be worn cars; I don\'t think there is a high market for second-hand cars?" Joseph didn\'t know what she was talking about.
" You are wrong. I think Paige gets what I am trying to say. These cars would be a great way to tell the club\'s story. After all the club activity and presumably some racing, they would like tokens of the past. It would not be for selling but for promoting similar cars that the club could sell on the side. You have to have some income to sustain all the expenses." Samuel was impressed Paige got his idea.
The girl had a business mind; it was expected, as Samuel had seen many times when he started such topics she would often come up with some far-reaching ideas.
Samuel\'s plan was to let these supercars circulate easier in the market. Many wealthy people bought such cars for the brand name, but enriching their experience would result in the club giving them a new perception because they buy directly from their company.
The profits might become astronomical if it became famous among the American second generation. They only needed to execute the plan with careful consideration.
Other people were not stupid; they also understood what Paige was trying to say earlier. They were sure it would be a key point in the future.
The US had the world\'s largest number of car enthusiasts anywhere in the world. If they could build up an entire club, it would attract more such people.
Moreover, the specifications were also higher than normal, with special requirements for new members. It would mean whoever joins would be a second generation or other social elite.
" That\'s an amazing idea. Most of the time, we don\'t get a chance to drive our vehicles. It also happens that many of us own several of them; if we can make money off of them, that would be great. It\'s killing two birds with one stone!" Someone said.
" Sooner or later, it would snowball into something extraordinary!"
Everyone began to discuss among themselves; saying they were excited was an understatement.
" Samuel, it was you who proposed the idea. Everyone here would not mind if you named the club." Joseph made a tactful decision while looking at him with hopeful eyes.
Others might not understand his intention, but what he was trying to do was to tie Samuel\'s name with the club.
Samuel had many identities, and the power behind him was even more shocking. As someone from the most prestigious family in the world, there was absolutely no disadvantage in having such a character in the club. It would definitely give them some head start.
How could Samuel fail to see through Joseph\'s intentions? But it was not a bad proposal. He knew Paige would be at the helm, so he wanted to help her.
" How about SOC? An acronym for Supercar Owners Club?" He said after pondering for a while. He went with a shorter version first because everyone would probably remember it. It was easier to remember.
" SOC?"
"Supercar Owners Club?"
Many nodded, hearing the name; it was not tacky or overly complicated. It sort of rolled down one\'s tongue.
" Hold on! Isn\'t that too simple?" Paige asked.
" What do you suggest?"
" Something more powerful like Pinnacle car hosting? Isn\'t that domineering?"
" That sounds lame." While everyone laughed, Samuel got a little closer to her to whisper.
" Remind me not to ask you for a suggestion while naming our kids."
" What- you-" Her mind exploded. It was basically short-circuited by his crude tease.
Everyone else also noticed her getting redder and redder; they asked if she was alright, to which she could only nod. She would need some time to recover from his destructive blow.
" Our main goal would be to connect like-minded people and provide an experience they could not get anywhere. Also, I think we should limit our numbers to five hundred people, after which we should stop recruiting. What they should be the cream of the crop!" Leaving her aside, Samuel continued with his plan.
His words made sense; it was better to not have a cluster besides how they would preach exclusivity with many members. Scarcity was what drove the price in any field.
" Samuel, then you can be our first president. I don\'t think anyone would disagree. You also came up with the idea, the club name and the rules. It\'s only fit for you to be the position of president." Joseph said seriously.
He was not trying to force it on him, but when compared to him, everyone else looked pale. He was charismatic and obviously had some leadership skills; Joseph was certain he would do great as the club president.
However, Samuel didn\'t want to accept it. It would be too tiresome to manage on top of everything he had been working on in the background. He was sure he would not be here most of the time. It would reflect poorly on their establishment if the president was always gone.
He looked toward the side; he had to perfect candidate in his mind.
" Thank you for your kind word and offer, but I think Paige would be best suited for the position. She had a business mind and would be present here most of the time."
Everyone knew Samuel was magnanimous, but they didn\'t expect he would not even think before rejecting such a position. It was a tempting proposal, but he instead recommended Paige in his place.
But when they thought about it, it all made sense. Paige was already like their leader; she led most of the second-generation circle in the city and was always loved by everyone.
The main point was Samuel and her relationship; no one knew what it was. They did see her kiss him fervently earlier in the afternoon, but after that, they stayed and talked like friends. Neither of them addressed it or even acknowledged that it happened.
But whatever the case, they knew they were synonymous; it didn\'t matter who became the president as long as they stayed \'friends\'.
" We don\'t have any objection."
Paige, who woke up from her stupor, looked at Samuel tenderly. She knew the position would be quite lucrative in a few years, but he gave it up for her. She had to do her best to prove his decision was right!
Thus, they began prepping. Paige quickly got into her position; she began thinking about the venue to rent, the logo and other things about promoting the club. It was only a verbal arrangement, but it was very well thought out on her part.
Samuel was impressed again by her adaptability. She was no less than Maia, a business prodigy or Iblis, who had trained since she was a child.
It gave him a different perspective that even top beauty could hold their own in such fields. They were not just there to look pretty. Even Paige considered a \'party\' girl, could do it if she tried.
