My OP Minion System in the Apocalypse

Chapter 192 William To Love [Chloe]

However, this didn\'t last very long. Shin\'s real personality began shining through, and he was getting obviously frustrated at her lack of progress. Then again, you couldn\'t really blame him; he was trying to teach a complete newbie how to play in this forceful wind. It was already difficult to kick the ball around as it was, with the wind pushing it in all directions. After a while, the wind became heavy rain. The entire pitch and the three of us were now all drenched, with water soaking into our clothes and dripping onto the ground like we were fountains. "I think we should call it a day!" I could barely hear him even though he was practically shouting at the top of his lungs. "I agree." I wasn\'t sure if he heard me, but I was walking back towards my bag, which had practically become a container of water at that point.

The three of us started running for cover, the closest of which was the entrance of the club room. Shin slammed the handle of the door and noticed that it was obviously locked at this time. We only had a little overhang which we could use as cover, and the rain could still hit us. "How are you going to get home?" I asked Shin. Yui and I had both taken the bus here, so there wasn\'t really a good method for us to go home as the bus stop was a few minutes on foot, and the next bus wasn\'t coming for thirty minutes. "I walked here." He said. I had hoped that he\'d been dropped off by his parents or something so they could pick us all up. Turns out we were pretty much stranded here. "What should we do?" I asked him.

"If we ran, we could probably get to my house in about five minutes." He said. It seemed like the best solution, for now, considering there wasn\'t much else we could do. He pointed towards the direction of his house, and the two of us followed him, holding out bags over our heads.

I noticed that Yui was having difficulty keeping her balance. The ground was quite wet and especially for someone who was pretty unathletic, unlike Shin and I, the running pace was pretty quick. The two of us eventually slowed our pace down in order to allow her to keep up with us. I felt as if I was being pushed by the wind from how strong it was.

The sprint took ten minutes longer than predicted because we had to slow our pace for Yui. Eventually, we reached the front doorstep of Shin\'s house and breathed a sigh of relief. He opened the door and let the two of us inside.

We dripped water all over the entire entrance of his home.

After practically flooding the entire walkway, Shin\'s mother handed us some towels to dry off.

We wiped ourselves down for a little before sitting down on some couches in his living room. "So, who are these girls you\'ve brought home today?" I could hear his mother questioning him. He replied with an irritated, "Don\'t say it like that," before ignoring his mother completely. He sat down with us and told us about his plans. "The reason I couldn\'t come later is that I was planning to do some work with Teru and Rin later today here."

Oh, he was friends with Teru? "What were you guys going to do?" I asked him.

"We were just planning on doing some homework together and hanging out, I guess." I see; well now that we were also at his house, I wasn\'t sure how long I was going to stay there. "When are they coming over?" He thought about it before checking some texts on his phone. Yui was still silently listening to our conversation. "Oh! They\'re actually coming over in fifteen minutes." Hold on, fifteen minutes? That was sooner than I expected. "Do you want us to go before they come?" I queried. "No, it\'s fine. You guys can stay. The rain is pretty heavy at the moment anyways, so it\'s best you stayed here, for now, I think, unless you really want to go." I pondered the concept and decided to stay after all. "Yeah, I think I\'ll stay." I wanted to talk to Teru anyways.

It seemed after hearing that we would be staying at Shin\'s house, Yui\'s face suddenly became red. She had been fiddling with her thumbs this entire time as well, similar to when I first talked to her at the Japanese restaurant. Shin diverted the attention and started to talk to Yui, "So why did you decide that you wanted to play soccer today?" I didn\'t expect him to ask such a hard-to-answer question at this time. It seemed to have caught Yui off guard as she frantically thought of a response. She couldn\'t tell him that she wanted to play just to hang out with him. "U-um... I just thought it would be fun..." Her voice was trailing off at the end. It was a boring answer, and it wasn\'t long before Shin realised just how shy she was.

**********

I wonder. Was this the life I\'ve always wanted to live?

The more I think, the less I understand about myself.

I guess I\'ll just keep waiting.

Maybe some boy will give my life reason.
